In the article there have been analyzed the results of experimental testing of strength of brick cellular-concrete piers (partitions), reinforced by the sheets from carbon-fibre fabric, against activity of static shearing load, simulating seismic load on masonry construction in case of earthquakes. Test technology has been provided. The experiment shows the options for reinforcing the brick piers (brick partitions) by the sheets from carbon-fibre fabric with one or two-sided position of reinforcement elements. There is a comparison with the results of tests of deviation (misalignment) of the unreinforced brick piers (brick partitions). There is a description of technology of fastening of the sheets to brickwork.

This article provides the results of the experimental researches/tests of fragments of brick walls of buildings in real size, reinforced by coal-fiber cloth, in response to dynamic loads, simulating seismic impact of the earthquake intensity 7 to 9 points on a scale МSK-64. The test procedure is described. The test instrumentation is described. The main conclusions based on the results of the tests are provided.

The results of experimental studies in earthquake resistance of «HARPOON» self-drilling bolt screws (GLOBAL RIVET Company) under dynamic load are set forth. In the course of the tests using a two-component vibroplatform the dynamic effects were modeled in the form of the cyclic (harmonic) load, impulse input (seismic impact) and repeated transient load. Basing on the test results, the recommendations are given on using «HARPOON” fastening elements to connect cladding sandwich panels to steel frames of buildings to be erected in areas with 7-9 point seismicity.

Experts of the Research Center of Earthquake Engineering at the V.A.Kucherenko TsNIISK and F-EXPERT Co. based at the Institute of Facade Structures (IFBT GmbH - Leipzig, Germany) have performed the complex dynamic studies to assess the earthquake resistance of SORMAT anchor fittings. The paper presents the anchor dynamic test program and the methods allowing assessment of their behavior under earthquake effects with 7-9-point intensity. The tests of anchors were conducted in the laboratory at the Research Center of Earthquake Engineering and in IFBT (Institut fur Fassaden und Befestigungstechnik).

A great amount of buildings and structures of various heights and purposes to be built in Russia’s seismic zones (particularly, owing  to construction of unique sports and public centers of Sochi Olympics) raises questions to designers that cannot be answered because of insufficient volume of experimental and theoretical studies or due to lack of reflection in the regulatory literature. The examples of these problems are attached faсade systems and the methods of their fixing to buildings’ walls with anchor fittings.

Investigated the influence of the external reinforcement system by composite materials based on carbon fibers on the carrying capacity of construction with walls of brick masonry under seismic loading. Defined the mechanism of working of the reinforced samples and identified basic construction requirements, which helps increase seismic stability. The method of calculation of carrying capacity of brick masonry reinforced composite materials is presented.
